Each employee benefits client is assigned a minimum of two Cross representatives: an account executive, whose principal responsibility is front line contact, and a benefits specialist, working in a day-to-day fashion with each client. Both positions require a comprehensive understanding of the employee benefits field, and both agents must be well-versed in all facets of the industry.
We also provide a knowledgeable back-up team that’s up-to-speed about our clients’ programs, so team members can provide additional support in the event both account representatives are unavailable. We make sure a Cross employee benefit professional is available to meet with each of our clients throughout the year, whenever a need arises.
The division is presently staffed with more than 30 employees, and most of our account executives have ten or more years of experience in the employee benefits field. Clients count on this experience to guide them through the maze of product, plan design, and funding options required to manage employee benefits needs. Companies represented by the agency range in size from one employee to hundreds.
Cross Employee Benefits has combined sales and service functions. Representatives involved in the acquisition of an account remain with that client and are responsible for annual renewals as well as adhering to our Standards of Performance in meeting your day to day servicing needs.
As a specialty division representing more than 1500 employee benefit clients throughout Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts, Cross Employee Benefits commands a high level of attention from insurers in the employee benefits field. Our agency is often asked to participate in the development of new products and plan designs, and to offer advice to carriers and the media.
An example of the agency’s in-depth involvement in the employee benefits field has been our participation on broker advisory councils. Insurance carriers look to these bodies for input and guidance on many of their market initiatives.
Our organization has been a member of the following councils since their inception.
